Writing for Life

GW is more than big-name speeches, tuition prices and partisan politics; it is a living, breathing community.

The Life section covers this community with intriguing stories about what makes GW tick. We write fresh articles, with a creative flair.

Our articles have told the stories of former Iraq soldiers pursuing degrees at GW, profiled graduating international students and recounted the experiences of Peace Corps volunteers.

Reporters also alternate writing several regular columns. The "What's the deal with" column sheds light on the mythical aspects of GW, such as whether the Gelman Starbucks is the highest-grossing franchise on the East Coast. The "Weekly Check-up" has covered health issues from Adderall to testicular cancer. And the "Blind Date" feature has set up many lucky singles.
